Introduction to Huntington’s Australia
Huntington’s Australia (HA), the peak national body for Huntington’s disease (HD), is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families impacted by HD across New South Wales & the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia & the Northern Territory, Tasmania, Western Australia.
Through our comprehensive range of services, we strive to raise awareness, advocate for the HD community, and provide vital training and education to caregivers, disability support service providers, allied health professionals and other stakeholders.
What is Huntington’s Disease?
Huntington’s disease (HD) is an inherited degenerative neurological condition affecting the brain and central nervous system that results in the progressive loss of mental and physical capacities.
Huntington’s disease progressively strips away the affected individual’s ability to walk, talk, eat, think and reason; death ensues from complications.

Our HD Specialists are experienced and compassionate care management professionals who have an in depth understanding of Huntington’s disease and it’s impacts on clients and their families. We provide support and connection; information and awareness; non-clinical counselling; support groups; youth support; and training to our clients, their families, and to service providers.
